Insurance
WeShipBoats highly recommends that you take an insurance policy when shipping your boat. While carriers are responsible for damage to products during transportation, this is often a very limited liability based on weight. Cargo Insurance can cover the loss and/or damage of your boat or yacht while it is in transit between the points of origin and final destination. We provide customized maritime cargo insurance for your boat or yacht based on the value, routing, and condition.
Rate
WeShipBoats offers you transportation insurance at a rate of 1% of value up to $ 350,000 in value. In cases where value exceeds $350,000 please contact us directly for an insurance quotation . This rate is subject to new and used boats professionally packed i.e. shrink wrapped on trailer/cradle (minimum coverage $695 per boat).
In most cases, coverage will cease at port of destination, however, extended coverage can be offered up to your door or marina upon request.
Cargo insurance covers the value of your boat, transportation costs and a 10% excess for miscellaneous. Claims are subject to a 3% deductible (minimum $500 per boat).
Cargo insurance rates are based on the value and destination. If you provide value and opt for insurance coverage in your quotation request, we will include insurance costs with our offer.
